EVERYBODY LOVES WIKILEAKS PARTY

We now live in the Age of Wikileaks Spectacle.

Though what we saw was less than what was expected, we know it for sure that an age has succumbed and another has just began. Nothing will be the same again.

We are thrilled with the idea that “state secrets” are getting defunct. Now, we can read secret correspondences as like reading Hello while enjoying our coffee.

Thus, this Saturday, we will celebrate Wikileaks in our Young Civilian fashion.

At the party, we will also be giving out The First Unofficial Wikileaks Awards. The best informer, the best liar, the best Dr. Strangelove, the best “promoter of partisan press”, the best back stabber, the best gossip girl and more will be awarded.

Furthermore, the diplomat who authored the report suggesting  ”The future is certain. It’s only that damned past that keeps changing” will be nominated for a special Literary Award.

So now it is time for us to leak into the night life of Taksim in Istanbul!

All local, imported, national, imperialist, heavily-taxed drinks and all kinds of junk food will be available with with surprise newspaper columnists and authors influenced by wikies. .

Young Civilians started the race in front of the CHP headquarters amidst astonished stares of party officials, and after riding in vehicles during some parts of the race, passed the finish line at the Constitutional Court. Titled the “First Traditional Folder-Carrying Footrace from the CHP [Headquarters] to the Constitutional Court,” the race was attended by tens of youngsters.

Nurcan Çalışkan ( one of the leading members of the Young Civilians) read a statement before racers set off and detailed the reasons for their protest deriding the CHP. “We are organizing this footrace to find quality staff for the CHP, which has run to the Constitutional Court following every constitutional change and which is presently awaiting busy days for the same reason. The winner will have a great advantage for being employed by the party,” she said. The CHP has applied to the Constitutional Court 36 times since 2007 during the term of the last Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government. The party has vowed to bring the government’s newly announced reform package, which has received wide appreciation both from within Turkey and outside the country with the prospect of further democratizing Turkey, to the top court as well.

Following the race, winner Tarık Beyhan said he would do his best to earn the CHP’s respect. “I will carry many folders to impede the functioning of Parliament and to earn the CHP’s respect,” he said.

Young Civilians promise to give 1,000,000 $ award to the person to throw the first shoe at  the pioneers of the crime against humanity in Gaza; Hosni Mubarak – The President of Egypt, Tzipi Livni -  Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, King Abdullah – The King of Saudi Arabia and Ehud Olmert – Israeli Minister of Defense.
The first shoe was thrown at George Bush, who mercilessly used the most cruel war apparatuses, by the Iraqi journalist Muntazir El Zeydi.
It was the best respond to give to the brutes without getting as brutal as them.
Now it is time for others…
The conscientious people, who are about to lose their mind everyday with the terrifying images of war, need this action of relief.
Where will we find 1,000,000 $?
